How does counselling help?
Counselling will provide a non-judgemental environment for you to process your thoughts and emotions. Talking therapy will allow you to explore your current feelings. Counsellors will use their training, skills and experience to facilitate this environment to allow you to find your authentic self.
In a counselling session a counsellor may have some specific exercises or may facilitate a conversation with you. You are the expert in the room and only you truly understands how you feel so the counsellor will really work to understand you by exploring your feelings, emotions and thought processes.
Counsellors may discuss with your childhood, past experiences, life events and how you are currently dealing with life and relationships.
All of our counsellors are registered members of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), you can read about our code of ethics and learn more about counselling as a service on their website below.
To help you decide if counselling if for you, we offer a free of charge 30-minute consultation to help you understand more about the process. You can contact via email or our contact page to discuss this.
Please note counselling sessions can be offered outside of core counselling hours.
